What the store needed
The merchant needed wholesale buyers to meet minimum order quantities on Shopify Plus. Retail shoppers also used the store, so the requirement was specific to B2B orders rather than a minimum applied to every customer.
- Wholesale buyers had to meet the merchant's minimum order quantities before completing checkout.
- Retail shoppers were not supposed to be subject to the B2B minimums.
- The B2B purchase flow needed to stay simple while enforcing the quantity requirement.
What I did
- I customized the Shopify Plus B2B purchase flow to enforce minimum order quantities at checkout.
- I kept the purchase flow simple for wholesale buyers while working to the brief's separate B2B and retail requirements.
- I worked with Shopify Plus, Shopify B2B, Liquid, JavaScript and CSS on this project.
Delivered scope
The June 2023 project delivered minimum-order quantity enforcement at Shopify Plus B2B checkout, with a simple purchase flow for wholesale buyers. The brief distinguished wholesale quantity requirements from the retail purchase flow.
